CBH Again Earns Full NCQA Managed Behavioral Healthcare Organization Accreditation
PHILADELPHIA, PA – September 27, 2022 – Community Behavioral Health (CBH) announced that it has earned the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) three-year Full Managed Behavioral Healthcare Organization (MBHO) Accreditation. The MBHO Accreditation is a nationally recognized evaluation that determines how well a health plan manages all parts of its delivery system, including physicians, hospitals and facilities, and administrative services.
“We are delighted to earn the NCQA’s Full MBHO Accreditation,” said Faith Dyson Washington, PhD, CEO of CBH. “This accreditation demonstrates our team’s unwavering commitment to quality across all of our organizations’ operations, which allows us to continue supporting our Members, Provider Network, and community effectively.”
The NCQA’s voluntary review process first includes both rigorous on-site and off-site evaluations conducted by a team of physicians and managed care experts. Then, a national oversight committee of physicians and behavioral health providers analyzes the team’s findings and assigns accreditation level based on the organization’s compliance with more than 60 NCQA MBHO Accreditation Standards in the following categories:
- Quality Management and Improvement
- Utilization Management
- Credentialing and Recredentialing
- Members’ Rights and Responsibilities
- Preventive Behavioral Health Care Services
“CBH’s MBHO Accreditation is proof that it’s an organization which works hard to coordinate care and provide access and good customer support for members,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, NCQA President. “It’s a sign that CBH is focused on improving the behavioral health of its Members.”
