Racism and Implicit Racial Bias in Reproductive Health Care

In this virtual training, participants will review ways in which structural racism and implicit racial bias contribute to disparate outcomes in birthing care. They will examine local and national birthing mortality and morbidity data and discuss contributing factors to birthing outcomes. Participants will walk away understanding the impact and function of implicit racial bias and strategies to mitigate it.

At the end of this training, participants should be able to:

• Summarize racial disparities in reproductive health care.
• Explain the role of implicit racial bias in reproductive health care.
• List at least two strategies for addressing disparities in reproductive care.
