Anxiety disorders are among the most prevalent psychiatric disorders in the United States. Exposure therapy has been shown through research to be the most effective and efficient way to treat anxiety disorders, yet many therapists have never received formal training in this modality. Led by CTSA’s Dr. Sandy Capaldi, this workshop will discuss cognitive behavioral conceptualizations of anxiety disorders, emotional processing theory, and the specific applications of emotional processing theory to various anxiety disorders.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to discuss cognitive behavioral conceptualizations of anxiety disorders, describe emotional processing theory, label specific applications of emotional processing theory to various anxiety disorders, and utilize basic CBT techniques (assessment, psychoeducation, exposure techniques, and homework assignments).
This free virtual training is for any mental health professional who is interested in learning about exposure therapy for anxiety disorders.
BHTEN is a co-sponsor of this workshop. CEUs are available.
